Our old mum
Oct. 21st, 2018 04:06 pm* a few years ago, our finnegan dog ruptured the canine equivalent of her acl. after surgery, rehab, and a monumental vet bill, she got to come home to us. since then, she's been wobbly at times, and there's atrophy on her hind, but she's been — all things considered — fine.
today i noticed her struggling a bit and after watching a bit more, she's sliding out from under herself when navigating steps. =( it could be a variety of things, but most likely is just arthritis compounded with all the weirdness that is her hips/back legs.
tonight i'll give her a dose of the same joint stuff we use with smitty and we'll keep that up and see what happens. she'll be at the vet this friday-monday anyway for boarding, so we can have them look then. poor old girl. :( if we can handle things with medication, we will — but no more surgery for her.
* i told mister today that we have to lose weight. we have to get back to healthy. he agreed and promised he would not be an enabler and would instead be a supporter of all things weight-lossery. which means making the weights available again, so i can lift and shred.
why is it when i write "shred" i totally think of cheese? and tacos?
sigh.
* busy two weeks, man. busy two weeks.
tuesday: field trip to the science center to see the king tut exhibit.
saturday-monday: conference in long beach and, hopefully, a haunted tour of the queen mary on sunday night. =D
