twelfth night, yule style
Dec. 31st, 2024 03:21 pm~ meanderings, in no particular order ~
|| shakespeare was right: twelfth night is a dip into revelry and melancholy and should be nothing more and nothing less. even when you're not looking at it through an ecclesiastical lens.
|| yesterday i went to get my nose stud replaced (i just can't do it myself yet) and had my ear piercings reopened. our lovely piercer and tattoo artist emma did — as always — a fine, fine job. she advised kid to wait until after wisdom teeth extraction to get her helix piercing, so yet again, kid had to watch while i got needles jammed in me. probrecita.
|| it feels like almost spring right now and even though my head KNOWS that everyone is right and it's going to be cold for awhile longer and snow will happen again, my body and spirit are doing figurative spins of happiness, with faces turned up and arms outstretched, embracing all the POTENTIAL that can be felt just beneath the surface of the world.
|| i have finally settled on what i'm going to focus my writing energy on and am actually excited about it. “times are bad. children no longer obey their parents, and everyone is writing a book.” (probably not cicero, probably not c. sometime BC) oh, well, not cicero....it is what it is. i'm also going to take up the challenge from my friend to actually SHARE what i write some way, some where, which actually ties into the theme of the work of longer fiction i've settled on.
