First, this is what my daughter routinely has for lunch or dinner, except for the pizza part.
seija-lunch

She's just about finished and all that's left is the pizza. *sigh* She is not big on entrees.

Anyway, about the pizza....

Some of you know, some of you don't, but I really don't care for pizza all that much. As in, if it were up to me, we'd never have it. The only reason I ever offer it up as a going-out suggestion is because I know Paul and Seija love it and I don't want to be that kind of selfish mom that never gets others things if she doesn't like it. I even tolerated -- with a smile -- "Yo Gabba Gabba!" when I really just wanted to stick a fork in the characters' eye(s).

The pizza on her plate is from Traders take and bake. I liked it. I really, really liked it. Her pizza was cheese and olive. The grownup pizza was green olives, roasted garlic, linguica, and pepperoni. Did I mention I liked it? Yes? Well, it bears repeating, because I never say that about pizza. I do love to have wings with my pizza, and the Traders versions blew. Too spicy, not crunchy enough, etc.

Momentous pizza moment needed to be recorded. =D

...

I think I'm going to take a break and read _The Paris Wife_, then do some cleaning, then play some Star Wars stuff, then do some more cleaning and, in all of this, fit in some school junk. I might even write some, seeing as how I keep going back to my girl and where I left her. =D

...

As a side note, we may be taking a jaunt up to Mountain View in February for a Google job fair! =D Do 8 hour drives really count as jaunts?

xo

Using an icon I don't think you've seen before . . .

My kid almost ate nothing but broccoli (!!! Thank heavens), fish stieks and mac and cheese for ages! And in restaurants as a preschooler, all she'd eat was french fries. :(

But she's now 23, and she turned out great.

(Oblique reference) Perhaps the pizza recipe is from Sally Field!

Awwww, child and her kitty! :)

I was reading an article a few years back about how the eating habits kids get before they turn 9 are the ones that will solidly stick with them when they get older.

I hope hope hope that her preference for all things fresh and juicy stay with her. The ONLY worry I have is that she's not getting enough of the complex carbs she needs for energy -- she's not big on bread OR pasta as a general rule. Ah, well...as long as she's healthy and can poop, it's all good.

Mt. View is No. California -- I think it's east of San Jose.

Oscar's got a similar preference for raw veggies and fruits. He'd eat a PB&J and a plate full of crudites for every meal, if I let him. He's not such a fan of cooked foods, though, which is kind of annoying because I've become the "short-order mother" I swore I'd never be. Unless I'm making mac n' cheese or fish sticks, he won't eat most hot meals without a fight. So I either have to deal with gagging, choking, dinnertime drama over my horrible yucky awful spaghetti or I'm slapping together yet another special-order sammich for the kid. As much as I love the fact that he eats his veggies, I sure wish he'd eat some other stuff too...
