natural disasters galore
Feb. 17th, 2019 11:16 amDisaster #1:
Yesterday the power was out from midnight until 10 a.m.
That meant coffee was way late in coming.
Disaster #2:
Snow! So much snow! It is pretty though and should stop at some point today. =D
Disaster #3:
We had a small earthquake this morning! Only a 3.4, but it's in an area where we do NOT feel quakes.
Yeah, none of them are really disasters, but whatcha gonna do?

Updated list of books for 2019! Recent books have been more pulpy than literary, but sometimes a brain just needs some fun!

Kid let me read her essay on the Parthenon and while a lot of it is typical for a 6th grader, there are pieces that are astoundingly mature in their construction. I see her voice coming through, and that is a MAJOR thing -- most students, sadly, don't have a voice in their writing. I'm proud of her!

Weather is keeping me from a lot of things I want to do, so I'm having to dig deep for patience. I would love to be working with Boo and Smitty, but the cold, wet, sloggy conditions make it not super wise. This too shall pass, and I *am* thankful that we are getting so much precipitation: California needs the wet, man.

Last night I had some amazing ideas for writing! It was like my brain was loosey-goosey and scenarios and plot twists were coming in beautifully: my mental television was tuned in with laser precision!
Now to just, you know, write. I would LOL, but it's more sad than funny.
OK, it's sort of funny.

I received an email from Sue reminding me how horrible I am. Those of you still friends with her? Be cautious, for reals. Make sure you say enough nice things to her to make her feel loved; make sure you don't post anything triggering or she'll assume it's all about her. *shrug* She is not the first person who's tried to make me feel like shit and she certainly won't be the last.
