tomorrow, we ride
May. 31st, 2021 09:11 ami just checked the weather and it will be 107 degrees when we go to get stuff from my classroom. i have not been in that type of weather for close to a year and a half, so i'll probably melt and die. o.O let's hope not, k? k.
.
yesterday i did nothing and enjoyed it, thank you. well, to be fair, i did tidy up a bit and i thought about doing laundry (but didn't)...and i updated my book list for the library. on tap for the next round of checkouts:
The Midnight Libary
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
Hamnet: A Novel of the Plague
^ i have been on the waiting list forEVER for these three. i'm tempted to just buy them, but that goes against my commitment to be frugal. :)
The Ten Thousand Doors of January
Meddling Kids
The Silence of the Girls
My Life/Burt Reynolds
^ these should be available sometime this week. maybe.
i am learning patience and it's not my favorite thing. hrm. i think i can check out one of them electronically, so i may do that. then again, i don't like reading on the kindle near as much: it's just not...right. i would go so far to say that, at least for me, it's...wrong. very.
.
mister found a snek inside our front gate yesterday and relocated it. it wasn't until after he did the moving that we identified it. that is the wrong order of things, friends -- we have rattlesnakes up here and when they're wee, they don't have rattles. anyway, it wasn't a rattlesnek -- it was a pacific gopher and it is more than welcome to stay on my property all of its life. wait, let me clarify: it can stay here and be OUTSIDE the house and OUTSIDE the gate as long as it wants.
this is the first one we've found in the four + years we've been here. or the first one we've *seen*. o.O
.
so i leave you with this, because it sums up my mood today (apparently, this doesn't work on the app...sorry!):
