+ while i'm thankful i'm not experiencing the 112 degree temps that are happening down the hill, it's hard to feel appreciative when the heat is so relentless. we hit 100 degrees today and that is just NOT NORMAL for our mountain community; in fact, no one really can remember it ever getting this hot. we're supposed to be at 101 tomorrow, then there's a slow cool down into the weekend when we are SUPPOSED to drop into the low 80s.

fingers crossed that really happens.

+ yesterday, i made the best potato salad i have ever made. seriously, i can't even begin to tell you how excited we all were to tuck into it! i tried a different approach on things this time w/o changing any of the ingredients -- instead of chopping the egg yolks with the whites and tossing it all in, i mixed the yolks with the mayo, vinegar, and mustard and made a dressing. that got mixed with the potatoes, whites, pickles, and onions and it was amazing.

a.maze.ing.

i also made banana pudding and everyone enjoyed that, too.

that's going to be the extent of my cooking for a few days. tomorrow i'm going to have mister pick us up subway and wednesday seems like a long way away so i won't think about that now. *nod*

+ my bench brush finally arrived and it was boring, so i did this:

seriously, if it has a flat surface, i'm always wondering if i can engrave it. ;)

speaking of engraving, i sold two of my charBOOterie boards on FB and have decided to just try and avoid selling there when possible. i detest getting on fb all the time, but it's also been my biggest way to sell in the past. as far as these boards go, i only have 10 blanks and i think i'll sell them all before halloween. that's about....$350 profit at the end of everything. money for my lady farm! =D

yesterday when i was thinking how much i hate FB, i took the actual time to make my etsy store. this week my plan is to put up at least 5 things and then i'll share the link and ask you to look at it and favorite it and share it if you are so inclined. if you're not? my feelings won't be hurt at all. ;)

it's like i need a person to SELL my things, because i'm the worst about doing it. i need to get two more stall signs made and then i can advertise those locally, but at that point? i want to just be done.

in my perfect world, i'd just make stuff and someone else would sell it and give me the money.

+ i just found out my ex-gay-husband is going to be on general hospital in three weeks! one day he'll be an extra and within a year? he'll be going up against victor newman! (i know that's a different soap, but it's the only one i know.)

i may have to re-marry him.

+ it looks like mister and kid will be heading back east on the 6th of october (a thursday) and coming back the following thursday. we'll know lots more details about moving when he gets back. :) if what i WANT to happen happens, we'll be looking at new construction. that simultaneously thrills me and terrifies me. o.O

so for right now i'll just imagine everything will go perfectly and i'll be on my lady farm in no time.

*twitch*

~~~
i think i'm going to tidy up my work area for 15 minutes then go get in bed with a book. it's just too hot to be creative right now.
I am really hoping my app is wrong because it says we are going to be at 112 tomorrow. I might melt into a puddle.
My grandmother used to make banana pudding, so I have a lot of fond memories. She always served it will Nilla wafers. It was always so good.
Congrats on selling your work. That is awesome!
That is certainly hotter than what I'm going through. This heat wave is awful.
I would definitely check out your Etsy page. Not sure how many people I know actually shop on Etsy, but yeah...
I read an article yesterday that this year's heat waves are only the start of these high temp heat waves--worldwide. dang!
That's a conservative area of WI, I think, one of my mentally unbalanced cousins lives up around there. (not saying there is a correlation between being conservative & mentally unbalanced, but maybe there is! ha) Did you ever read Laura Ingalls Wilder book "Little House in the Big Woods?" that's up there I do believe...
Your post was cheery for me to read-so thank you!
Dislike facebook, dislike selling on facebook. All I get are weird spams and scams, then if someone actually does want to buy I have to feel suspicious.
Hope Etsy does well for you.
That's just too hot!!!! I hope it is wrong, too. :)
We loaded the banana pudding with Nilla wafers, so it was legit. I LOVE how the cookies get a little soft and squishy.
it's miserable. AND i forgot that the horse has a farrier appointment today. thank goodness mister said he'd go down and handle it, because i just do not want to do heat today.
you're so awesome! :)
omg, find out where they live so i can avoid the area! lol
i have read all of the LHOtP books over and over and over and over. they're my favorites! pepin, wi (where they lived) is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar south from where we'll be living (if we move...it's still an if) and walnut grove is farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr south east. distance won't keep me from going, though! =D
i only sell locally (for the most part) on FB, so almost everyone that's bought something knows someone that i know....so i'm far more trustworthy to them i guess. :)
I'm trying to get caught up thus am reading backwards so I don't know what the trip and the construction signifies, but hopefully I'll find out as I read back. It sounds exciting, regardless!
Have you thought about purchasing a table at various events to sell your stuff? Here there are usually tons of christmas/holiday bazaars as well as smaller events run at churches and such. Table rentals are usually fairly cheap so it could be a simple way to sell for you.
