this morning i packed a single little box full of rarely used kitchen gadgets and feel accomplished: it's more real action than i've done before regarding actually moving, so that's something. here in a little bit, i need to wipe down the drawers and consolidate what we're keeping out into one space.

to help me keep doing things, i'm creating playlists on spotify with either music (right now, eminem and robin schulz are providing the musique du semaine) or podcasts (still giving "tanis" a relisten)....because creating playlists is so much more fun than packing. if i can get two or three more boxes packed today AND get a few areas of clothing sorted for donate/keep, i'll be happy. *nod*

i finally put out on social media that we're moving and was surprised by the lack of reaction from my people from my old school. to be honest, i think the FB algorithm pushes posts in weird ways AND most of my school friends are not on their devices all that much, so my feelings aren't hurt. plus, it is what it is and getting butt hurt or having any sort of negative reaction does no good...so why even go there?

one of my dearest old-timey friends (whom i've never met) messaged me and we talked about what the plan was out there. he pressed me hard on writing and gave me a few challenges to help me get going. it's nice when someone who doesn't have to believes you have talent — i mean, mister says wonderful things all the time, but he's married to me and is biased.

anyway, one of the challenges he made was to put something OUT THERE on penana (or something like it) just to get back into the flow of writing. he has some things on substack and actually made like....$92 this year or something. lol

so, instead of saying YES, i said MAYBE. but it might be a yes.

it just seems like sites like those want fanfic (which i don't do) or mommy porn (which i can't do), and my stuff doesn't have a place to land. but that's not the point. right? right.

but right now, my creative energy is being spent figuring out names for the farm. :)

[and this popped up in fb memories earlier:

Today's little daydream: moving to the PNW, teaching with Gabe Carbajal during the day, and collaborating with him at night on a screenplay that involves sharks, colons and semicolons, and drag queens. We'd call it "Coco Sherbet, Grammar Shark".]

The longest journey begins with one step...or in your case, the big move starts with packing up one box!

Look-you're doing it!!!! :-)

There's quite a range of writers on substack. I balk at paying to 'read more,' though I understand why people do it. So, sounds like it's all something for you to think about. Go for it! Why not?

if i were to ever put something on substack and did a PAY ME option, it would be for a cup of coffee and that's it! lol

OH, i may need to talk to you about gardening things. would you be up to it? :)

sure. It would be better to do when you're there and be able to walk around & take a picture or 10 though! But, yes, sure.

Congrats on packing. It all has to start somewhere!

Getting back into writing sounds awesome. I hope you are able to in between everything else.
