In a Nutshell
Jul. 15th, 2023 01:33 pm* due to a miscommunication, we need to come up with 20% down on the farm instead of 5%. THAT IS A LOT OF PERCENT. we're able to cover it, but -just barely- and i keep telling myself that as soon as our current house sells, all will be fine and dandy. the good thing about 20% down vs. 5% down? our farm payment will be close to $700 lower a month. i'm ok with THAT.
[pls note the princess in me wanted the 5% down AND a lower house payment.]
* that is IF WE EVER GET THE FARM. the buyers till haven't found a place (supposedly they were going to put an offer in on one yesterday, but we've heard dick) and OUR agent did not air tight some of the language so there actually is an out for them if they just get frustrated and say eff it. a california agent wouldn't have made that mistake. (ok, they could have. it's all good and i'm trying really hard not to be all "bitch, cross your t's and dot your i's." not everyone is as detail oriented about that sort of stuff.)
[it's all good, just complaining....]
* kid has been riding more and i'm happy about that. i'm not OLD, but i'm not "bounce back off the ground like a rubber ball" young, either. putting money into building an equestrian paradise for us doesn't make sense if she doesn't love it like i do. she's recently been riding an andalusian/quarter horse named fay and is falling in love a little — i saw video of them together and while kid looks great and helped fay collect and look good, the horse is a GORGEOUS mover. she's also for sale.
but she's a mare. ugh. and of course if you ask ANY TRAINER if the mare they are selling is marish, they'll all tell you "of course not." liars. the lot of them. lol
* there has been a lot of packing and cleaning going on, most done by mister and supervised by me. once we get the for sure YES on the farm and i feel like there's no way for them to weasel out of it, i'll chirk right up and be happy as a clam while i throw things in boxes. we did get a gardener (finally) and have a house cleaning team on standby to come and do a deep clean right before we put the house up on the market (yep, still not up) for pictures and junk.

other than obsessing over moving, i've been doing very little. it hasn't helped that it's stupid hot and kimjoybestdogever and i both need AC and television when it's like this. that dog and i know how the hell to lounge about, i'll tell you what.
oh, i DID sort of start watching yellowstone! at first, i just wanted to see what revenge teeter got for the horse stomping she and colby endured. i couldn't quite figure out what episode to start with, so just jumped in and kept going and going and going.
what's sort of fun about the show, is that i can relate to it so much — half my family on my dad's side were rodeo folk, ranch hands, cattle raisers, etc. if things had been just a little different (i.e. my parents NOT moving off the cattle ranch and into a city), i can't guarantee that i wouldn't have been a barrel racer with a penchant for wrangler butts. *nod*
anyway, it's just a day at a time (more like a minute at a time) mentality for me right now because we're in such a holding pattern. i keep telling myself that it will all work out like it's supposed to, but i'm also telling myself that platitudes can suck it.
