covid is still out there?

first — and perhaps most importantly — put your bra on. {there are so many little lines in her that just cracked me up.}

there's a lot to write about, but i'm going to bullet point a few things just to keep myself from reaching the lj character limit:

— we were all exposed to covid cooties on saturday. the second i found out, i went from feeling fine to deciding i had it. *sigh* we'll be in the clear tomorrow afternoon and i can go back to always thinking i have dengue fever when i cough. 

— the new place we were looking at is a go. offer was put in and accepted. closing date is established with NO contingencies. because the price of the house is a little less and it's a FSBO, we're saving a nothing-to-sneeze-at amount on down and closing. 

i could talk about what i don't like/love, but we've established that nothing short of a custom build is going to be my barbie dream house, so why bother? the good is that it has a clean inspection, it's very well maintained with upgrades i appreciate, and has some nice riding opportunities on and around the property. unlike previous place, we can move in and not have to worry about fixing anything at all. well, we do have to put up handrails for downstairs and add a fence, but that's it. 

we may be able to use one of the existing outbuildings as a barn, which will reduce the necessity of having to buy a barn kit. those spendy, yo. it all is moving toward getting my little farm up and going on schedule, and i like that. 

— paul reubens (aka pee wee herman) passed today. his characters brought me so much happiness that i can't but feel a little mournful. 

— i feel like we're doing OK with the packing, but i also feel like i'm full of shit. 

so, yeah. chaos and waiting and doing and plotting and planning are all continuing. the chaos part? giving me fits. but i can do this, right? right. *nod*

I missed the entry where you were walking away from the 80-acre farm, so I was shocked about the new one. But, then that entry was written two days after getting home from Maine and the night before my colonoscopy (in the middle of my prep). So — I was kind of — preoccupied. This one sounds better — at least financially, and maybe stress-wise with fewer required upgrades.

YES, you WILL do this--all the things! and it will be good. Moving is stressful, so...do your best and then just get some big ol' boxes to be able to throw stuff into. haha. Will you be using movers? will you be having them pack anything? They get it done, like no one's business, and.. well... maybe that might be an option for you?

Just start doing stuff!!! It will all be ok, you'll see.

So when exactly is your moving date? You're moving! woo hoo!

I read the news about Paul Reubens (dying last night on the 30th of cancer), and it all made me very sad. He was so wonderfully silly & funny & clever and I loved Pee-Wee Herman! I loved his side-eye, heh. RIP, Pee-Wee! I hope he & Minnie Pearl and Leslie Jordan and Large Marge, Louie Anderson...so many people, really, are having some fun now, on the other side.

there was so much BS with the sellers about the 80 acre place and my gut sort of kicked in and went "no. if you want to get back there this year, back out of this house now." a week after we backed out, they pulled the house completely off the market — my guess is they'll put it back up next year in the spring.

and yeah, you have had a LOT going on — so it's amazing you remembered anything about the 80 acre place at all. =D

we are set to close 9/13, and my guess is we'll be on the road on the 14th. we'll see how that all goes.
