+ i am 2090 miles from california, yet i am constantly looking at the wildfire maps and containment information. it's a big bit of crazy out there and even this great distance doesn't keep me from feeling a knot in my stomach.

+ fam is on the way back from kid's wisdom teeth removal. i had a nice conversation with her while she was still loopy on the anesthesia and was cracking up at what she was saying. poor little creature.

+ i've spent the day doing a safesport mandated reporter training so i can be a pony club member again. OMFG, i hate these damn things. after 15 years of taking them every year, i'm again reminded that repetitive trainings that don't allow me to click forward on slides are trainings designed by the devil himself. >.< i aced the pretest (100%) but had to go through the entire 90 minute thing just to take the exact same test and score 100% again. ugh.

now i just need my california background check ordered and delivered to them and i can ride my horse with all the other pony club weirdos. supposedly, there are some other adult members in a different --but relatively close-- chapter, so i'll have people to be mean to me. or something. i don't know, horse people are either amazing or assholes. or amazing assholes. but honestly, it's rare for me to meet someone i don't get along with.

+ i did my strength training workout today and was so proud of myself i had a yogurt "candy bar" — one i got for the kid and her recovery. lol i honestly don't think she'll be able to have them for a few days, but if she catches on that i ate one, i'm busted. maybe i'll try to trick her into thinking she had some before she left. o.O

+ daikon was procured! lotus root was procured! i am VERY happy! :)
