first, a PSA — don't forget the pets/livestock/etc.

~ hiyas from the land of incorrect weather forecasts and puffy-faced, wisdomtoothless children. we were only supposed to get a few inches of snow, but i think we're up to six now. i dunno, i haven't gone out in it yet — mister is making a big effort to keep me as warm and cozy as he can. it's still snowing and should continue until late tomorrow (??). not that i believe the forecast.
kid still hurts and is all swollen and pathetic. :( poor child is living off pudding and yogurt and soup....with ice cream and fruit bars mixed in. the first two days of this diet were a delight to her.
now? not so much.
~ because they brought home lotus root and daikon, tonight i'm making beef and daikon soup (with enoki), air-fried lotus root chips, braised cabbage, and sticky rice. yum. at least that's what i hope i'm making.....i may change things up in my head before dinner time.
[people around here call the evening meal supper and i just can't.]
my healthiest eating days occur when i have my biggest meal mid-day and then something light for late afternoon meal (no later than 4:30 or so). the holidays really messed up that schedule and i'd like to get back to my normal, but it's going to take some meal prep to make that happen.
you'd think that would be easy, what with the whole staying inside and futzing around more than doing outside stuff, but it's not. mostly because this weather almost demands i stay in PJs and curl up with a book.
speaking of books....
i recently finished the september house and found it quite an enjoyable read. there were a few little twists and turns that were surprising — which is always nice — and there was a seriousness of subtext subjects that made it more than most "horror" novels can ever hope for. i think my tenses are wrong in this paragraph. whatever.
anyway, i'm still on my spooky story kick and hope to get off of it soon....one can survive only on fluff for so long. =\
ok. i really need to do some things that are things other than what i'm doing. ;)

1/11 Do you think crying is a sign of weakness or strength?
— crying is a natural reaction to a variety of things, so i guess it depends on the situation. i've had adult women friends that have used tears for manipulative purposes — that's weak. i've seen men openly cry over heartache AND joy — that's strength.
