i'm wondering if it's a genx thing or not, but i notice a lot of my group are just living their best lives while somewhatish actively fighting the fight. i think we have the mentality of shit's gonna happen/just try to stay alive until the dust settles, but i may be totally and completely wrong. 

i do know that my best of the best x'ers talk some highly good and informed shit about drump and his ilklings. i also know it's becoming harder to have any respect or love for people who voted for him, although i try to be MY best self and see the person, not the politics.

You have to live your best life because otherwise, the angst will consume every waking moment of your life, effectively turning you into the very thing you hate.

I have some friends who voted for Trump. A lot of my left-leaning friends have cut all Trump-voting friends off, but I won' do that. That only leads to increasing polarization. I think it's essential to keep the lines of communication open.

i think that if i let all this negative in, i'd just be a husk that could blow away in the wind. i allow myself a few days every week to stick my head in the sand and ignore, ignore, ignore.

while i love my trump supporting friends, there are times i want to smack them (much like cher smacked nicholas cage in /moonlighting/) and say, "snap out of it!" i imagine they want to do the same to me. >.<
