lingering sage
Jul. 11th, 2025 04:08 pm* there is something to be said about intention and how it can provide additional support to our reality. case in point: sage smudging to counteract negative energy in a space (be it a external space, an internal space, or — dare i say it and risk being referential — a liminal space.
the other day, after having people over and having so much STUFF going on, i felt the studio needed a reset. [i am a HUGE fan of resets — my personal feeling is that if i don't have regular resets, i'm stagnating.] so i brought out the sage stick (white, of course!), lit it up, and smudged alllll through the room, moving from the back to the door, fanning the smoke to the exit, and then letting it go out and away.
the intent of the exercise was what was most important: capturing nonsense in the smoke and escorting it out and away. while i don't necessarily believe in magic, per se, i do believe in ritual and its impact on us as humans. our front brain may be full of "this is silly," our reptile brains know better.
[for the record, my reptile brain totally believes in magic. and ghosts. and god, but not god with a capital G, more like god being a mote in the universe's eye — a little power connected to an even larger one.]
