and this really brings to the foreground my thoughts about LJonsky as a whole; from my very western perspective, nothing has really -changed- here since i started writing in 2000 or so. the purchase of LJ in 2007(?) by a russian group wasn't THAT much of a huge deal -- in fact, in my secret heart, what i hoped was that the platform would be used by the russian general population to share thoughts and stories freely. it didn't quite work that way, did it?

i solidly realize that i'm basically playing the hypocrite by being all "eff you, russia and your invading bullshit!" and then...writing here. in my perpetual motion of trying to explain my "why" to myself, i see LJ as still mine. like, i was here first, you fuckwads; you may call me a squatter but i've got tenure on this plot of the internet and i do not recognize your authority.

i'm even going to make this public in my own watered down, removed from the reality of it all stand of "russian warship, go fuck yourself."
