from aproximately 2016-2021, i simultaneously bitched and praised this specific time change. i bitched about it because when you get up at 4:45 a.m. to start getting ready for the day, your body is all "WTF, PLS? THE TIME IS 3:45 a.m. GET YOUR ASS BACK TO BED, KTHXBAI." or at least that is what MY body was doing. the praising part was due to there being that "extra" hour of daylight that meant extra time at the barn. that made up for the early morning, most times.

now? it's not a big deal. with kid doing at home study, mister working from home, and me being a successful, self-employed business lady (that made me laugh....), we just got up when our bodies told us to. today, our bodies said, "hey, get up at 8!" which was 9 according to the new time -- and all was fine.

those are the moments that make me glad i left my job, because the monday after this time change? students are crazy weird, man. crazy weird.

last night i stumbled upon hbo's "the gilded age" and ended up watching alllllll of them except the very last available episode. that i watched this morning.

i love love love it. LOVE it. christine baranski as aunt agnes is my hero and her bon mot delivery is absolute perfection.

what's funny is even when i'm not being a horse girl, i'm a horse girl: i was picking at conformation of the horses, was thinking of writing a letter to them saying they need to FEED their horses a little more (free feed + supplements, can I hook you up with solutions?), and even saw one that so obviously had DSL my heart hurt. i also caught on to the fact that there's a total of about 12 horses they use over and over in different ways.

this comes after finishing season 2 of "beforeigners" (another one that is AMAZINGLY good) and spending more time pausing to look at horses than is normal. with normal equalling NOT pausing to look at horses. but there were fjordhester and i just love them. sturdy little ponies, they are.

tomorrow we're heading to the far off lands of a metro area to do grocery shopping -- winco & costco for the win. if i could plan for my moods -- which i can't -- i would buy non-perishables/protein for the next two weeks. but the second i do that, i stop wanting to eat what i planned for. i am, truly, le pain in the butt.

so i'll plan for a week or so and that can be spread out over two weeks, so it's SORT of like i'm planning for fourteen days. *nod* i bet there is a mathematical equation for what i'm expressing.

anyway, i for SURE want some costco meatloaf. with smashed peas and roasted carrots. i also want smoked sausage and cabbage. we have a corned beef in the freezer, so i might make that -- but i don't WANT that, so i don't know. i also want to make a breakfast for dinner, because i have FINALLY learned how to make a perfect sunny side up egg with crispy edges. it's about patience and proper heat -- so my usual FAST and HOT method has been replaced.

i need to just be on top chef and get it over with. =D

little dog has hurt his foot and is very dramatic about it. it's a long way from his heart, so he should be fine.

even with that last part, it's shaping up to be a good week. keep that momentum going, girl!

DST is evil. We're not living in the middle ages. Every now and then governments talk about scrapping it, but it never seems to happen. You live in California, can you start a proposition or something?
