of note...
Mar. 29th, 2022 10:34 amkid and i periodically talk about moving to forks, wa -- vampires, werewolves, rain, and fog are our jam -- and yesterday i checked the weather there:
45 degrees and rainy.
OUR weather, here in our lovely mountain community, was just about exactly the same! that was it for the similarities, though. :( we have no vampires NOR american indian werewolves. =\ bah. we did have some sun -- and one of my neighbors captured this:

i am DYING at that deer; they're always peeking in windows and being nosy.
*
our rowing machine arrived yesterday and while i like to think i made it halfway through the english channel, i actually only "traveled" 2000 (and some change) meters. i say only, but it was a decent beginner workout that focused on form, because apparently there's a right way and wrong way to row. this week is only beginner workouts so i can go slow and figure out where the power moments and neutral body positions are. i'm going to say this -- i hated actually doing pilates (although i liked the machine!), but they worked and because things were so controlled, i learned a lot about how my body worked when engaging specific muscle groups.
i'm going to add some yoga to the mix next week (or maybe this week) and focus on hip flexors. i also need to add planks into the mix, because my genteel core muscles need it.
srsly, they hear me contemplating strenuous work that engages them, and they're like "no, no, let's sit and have tea and scones and discuss art! or how about a nap, right-o, jolly good?"
*
mister's birthday is tomorrow and he was all about trying something from the indian restaurant. i'm ambivalent. for the most part, most indian food i have had, i haven't enjoyed; i think there's an indian-food-ubiquitous-spice that does wrong by me and sideways bitch slaps my sinuses. then again, there have been a few curries that i've had which have made me swoon. and i will fight you for a good chapati, for reals.
so tomorrow i am going to go with what has the most solid reviews -- the tandoori chicken tikka and a pile of roti and hope for the best.
*
there has been dog drama this morning. i gave two big chew bones to the big dogs and a little chew bone to the little dog. because they all are not exactly the same, there has been MASS complaint -- well, big guy onslow is chill -- and it's funny and annoying all at the same time. weirdos.
ok. i go. time to get more coffee, write, and wait for the sun to come out.
peace, lovies. <3

Date: 2022-03-29 11:12 pm (UTC)That's what the vampires and werewolves want you to think.
I LOVE that deer. We have a fox family here that we see regularly and I saw a coyote in the back yard once, but the last time anyone around here (not me) saw a deer in the yard was about 5 years ago. They're so beautiful.
I enjoy that your muscles are British.

Date: 2022-03-30 04:05 am (UTC)I am a very picky gunshy eater, and have not experimented with Indian food, even though there is a really cute restaurant RIGHT next to my apartment complex. Like, they practically share a parking lot. I'm always so curious, but my experience is usually that trying a new food is negative, so I just don't do it 🤡 I buy a yellow curry sauce from Trader Joe's though and put it over chicken and rice, it is one of our staple meals and everybody loves it.
All that to say, I googled tandoori chicken tikka and that sounds pretty darn safe, so now I'm imagining hopping next door to try it 🥲

Date: 2022-03-30 04:30 am (UTC)I love Indian food. I have a recipe for a Chicken Tikka Masala that is truly delicious. I need to make it again here soon it has been a hot minute.
I love that you are mixing up your exercise so much. I tend to get locked in on cardio I have always meant to add yoga to work on flexibility and muscle strength.

Date: 2022-03-31 08:46 pm (UTC)i did tell mister that we could learn to cook some of it and just get the naan from there. =D

Date: 2022-04-01 03:48 am (UTC)The only thing that I change is that I put a little bit less cayenne powder then it calls for. I made it full strength at first and it was a bit too spicy for my acid reflux but a little less and it still has plenty of heat but doesn't kill my esophagus. It works perfectly with yellow rice and naan. So delicious

Date: 2022-03-31 08:49 pm (UTC)all that said? i watched the television show about it (the one that's most recent and a series) and got scared. :( i don't want to go get attacked by alien devices. =\
one time i need to tell the story of how i made mister take me ghost hunting in a cemetery with nothing but a can-do attitude and an audio recorder. i got SO SCARED that we had to come home.
that was when we lived in a rental that i swear on all that's holy was haunted. he kept daring me to do recordings in the house and i wouldn't do it. no way, no how.
did you just roll your eyes at me? lol <3

Date: 2022-03-31 09:45 pm (UTC)I have a friend who, with two of his high school buddies and another friend, has a podcast called Alien Theorists Theorizing. It's more of a comedy podcast. They get drunk and talk about all the same things that Art Bell loved: UFOs, alien abductions, ghosts, paranormal activity, etc. One of the theorists, a guy named Dan, does all the research (he's very interesting) and the other guys mostly just drink and make quips.
