it looks like we're going to get the farm — it's not 100% certain until we get their signed agreement, but we agreed to their final price (not as low as we'd like, but still fair, i think) and it feels like that part is over.

:) and o.O all at the same time.

mister got his raise and while it's not what his boss said he would try for, it's nothing to sneeze at, either. just keep swimming, right? lol (note: i remain positive that by his one year anniversary, he'll be where he's supposed to be. if he would have listened to me 5 years ago about getting certified in STUFF, things would be different, but shoulda, woulda, coulda. i mean if i had listened to him about bitcoin 18 years ago.....)

anyway.

now it's the logistics on the california side of things.

closing (called something else out there) is set for 8/17. the number of moving parts is crazy and we're going to have to pull out money from super secret stash to cover things until this house sells — including making two house payments for awhile if we have to.

please, lort, do not let us have to. lol

every day i look over kid's school work and check to make sure she's on track and today i read over what she's submitting for her art class. this kid may be 16, but she writes at an amazing level of refinement. so proud of her!

she is a big dummy in math, but the apple didn't fall too far from the tree on that front, so i'm ok with it. (kidding! she's not as bad as i am — but it's really obvious her brain just does not work in a /good at math/ sort of way.)

tonight for dinner, i just couldn't. seriously, after all the talk about the house (we submitted our acceptance about an hour ago), i had nothing in me, so tossed together a chicken and dressing casserole and cooked up artichokes. it doesn't even remotely go together, but i just don't care.

i'm working on a goodnotes garden planner and having to relearn how to do a digital planner with tabs and junk. last night i spent over two hours drawing a peony and coloring it for the cover — not the most effective uses of time, but it got my mind in a good place.

in fact, that's what i think i'm going to do tonight.
