when horses come to visit...

last night i dreamed of smitty. he looked so happy and healthy and i told the person i was talking to that he was a good, good boy. what i remember most is how he gleamed in the sun and how warm and utterly physical he was beneath my hand. 

i miss that boy every day. 

best boy with his girl.

in other news:

* i made lists today! not only that, i am actually doing things ON THE LIST. wow. 

* we took kimjoy to pick up her perscription at the vet's house — pup threw up on the way back, stepped in it, got it in her golden retriever tail, and eww. when we got home, she ran to her favorite pooping place and dropped a dog-head sized shit. thankfully she didn't do that in the car, right? after hosing her off, she informed us she was starving. insert eyeroll here. 

* i have been making an effort to eat a salad a day and hate it. salads are stupid unless they have taco meat, chips, guac, and cheese on them. (i'm sulky, ignore me.)

* to counteract today's stupid salad, mister is making me a hamburger for dinner. gonna put TWO slices of cheese on that, yo. if he could make the patties flat enough, i'd even make it a double double. *nod*

* speaking of double-doubles, no in-n-out in minnesconsin. :( i'm going to have to have my fill of them before we leave. 

* i'm trying not to dwell on all of the things i love about california that i won't have access to in the northlands, but it's difficult. =\ even thinking about all my future trips to canadia do nothing to assuage my melancholy. 

POOR ME.

I need to work more salads into my meals and I'm with you-not my favourites. I think it's the making them that feels worse than eating them as I generally love all forms of veggies. It's the making that seems annoying.

smitty horse was kid's first pony. when we moved up here to the mountains, we brought him up with us from our old place and he had some major health issues we had to work through. lots of time, money, attention, and learning got him to the point where he was in the best shape he'd been in since we got him. we had to put him down over a year ago because he was in pain from arthritis in his back — we were there when it happened and i swear on all that's holy, i /felt/ him when he passed. it was like a strong, concentrated presence that breezed by me.
