mister and child are off to her first minnesconsin riding lesson....40 minutes away. if all goes well, she'll do one lesson with this lady a week, plus have a pony club lesson, and we're trying to find a much-more-local riding solution, too. poor bebe couldn't find her breeches, so she's in jeans. she doesn't mind that too much, but i know some trainers get miffy about that. i DID let the woman know we were still in the chaos stage of moving so she might not have her breeches, but she didn't seem as concerned about that as making sure kid had her helmet and good boots.

which she does.

.

yesterday was a horrible day, people. well, pretty bad, not horrible. mister and i were going to go to big town to do some shopping, so i wanted to get a few things cleaned and put away before we left. i vacuumed, went up and down the stairs quite a few times, and was getting my shopping list ready when that ONE FUCKING MUSCLE in my back went all batshit crazy.

and it kept going and going and going. it took tylenol, advil, and half a gummy before it stopped its perpetual spasm nonsense. by that time, it was just too late to go anywhere without being late for kid's meeting with the pottery/ceramics people, so we are putting off shopping until tomorrow.

mister did research after pinpointing where it hurt and the treatment is rest, ice, and TIME. so yesterday, i rested it, iced it, but apparently didn't give it enough time because it still is tender and threatening. why is one day not enough? MEH. anyway, i'm going to make a HUGE effort to keep my back happy for two weeks in a bid to make it feel better.

oh, and before my back went wonky, i made some seriously delicious soup....

WITH A SMALL ITTY CABBAGE FROM MY OWN GARDEN. =D

i had very little yesterday, but tonight? ima gonna eat me some of that.

.

MIL needs her canning stuff back tomorrow, so if i don't get on that chutney, i'm going to regret it. i think i'll spend the time they're gone prepping the stuff i need to make the chutney. when mister gets back, i'll start cooking it in case i need him to lift anything too heavy for me. i'm also going to be making a batch of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies for the kid.

there's something about minnesconsin and living on my little homestead (i'm calling it that right now; when goats and chickens come? it's a farm, yo!)  that makes me want to cook and do domestic things.

.

i was unable to take a walk yesterday due to my back, but i hope to get in a bit of a stroll sometime today.

since physical activity is pretty limited atm, i'm going to focus on remembering to breathe.

funny thing: yesterday, after taking my gummy and when my body finally stopped being so tensed up, i was so relaxed and spacey that i kept thinking i was forgetting to breathe. o.O weirdo.

It's funny because I NEVER injure myself in the gym when I do menial things. One time, I was getting up from getting cat toys under the couch and my lower back just...I don't know if it just gave out or what but there was a sudden and sharp pain down there that laid me out for the rest of the day.

that's because when we're working out, we are doing shit RIGHT — there is focus and we're moving like we're supposed to, you know what i mean? i never got strains riding or doing pilates because i was so conscious of my body. but just breathing? i'll break a rib. lol

We don't do anywhere near the same exercises LOL but with bodybuilding people tend to injure themselves because they do too heavy of weights, not necessarily improper form.
