it's been a minute and let me preface things by saying that i am cold, i am cold, i am cold! :)

BUT...i still cowgirled up and took a nice long walk with KJBDE. at a few points, i regretted my decision to take her since she kept bounding off towards the woods and into drifts of snow that went up to her dog knees! or dog elbows. whichever. anyway, she kept getting little snowballs between her toes and would just stop, flop over, and gnaw at her feet to get them out — which, because of the dog slobber on her feet, caused more little snowballs. still, it was lovely; there are few things better than a dog smile and she was smiling the entire time.

there have been a few days of what *i* would call bitterly cold (-11), but i still tried to go out and get walks in. i discovered FROZEN NOSE HAIR on one of the coldest days and figured out how to keep that from happening — it was sort of cool, sort of...snot. ha.

kid started school this week and i decided to take a for fun class with her in solidarity, so i'm taking astronomy 101! =D i'm having a great time so far, but i AM cracking up on the discussion forums. there was one chick who was saying she was so excited about the class because she loves horoscopes and astrology and i've decided i want to be her friend.

other than that, it's still a waiting pattern on a lot of things. there's movement on the house, but it's going at a slow pace. there's movement on mister's raise, but it also is being glacial. what i need to keep returning to in my head is that we are OK with what we have right now. we are very, very OK and very, very safe. shit could go sideways and upside down and we'd be able to handle it in  one way or another.

i do not count my blessings lightly, but i also do not count them often enough.

i read my third book of the year, some something or other by riley something or other....or something or other riley, not sure. predictable, pedestrian, but it wasn't a total slog.

today i'm starting the 2nd /4th wing/ book and have a few on deck for after that, so yay! i'm still not writing near enough of my own stuff, but hopefully things will settle down soon so i can make time for that. or, if making time fails, i'll TAKE time for it. *nod*

beyond reading today, there's haus frau work, journal upkeep, and hopefully some time for art. i'm feeling a bit under the weather due to a weekly medication i'm taking (the day after is usually a little meh...and i took it yesterday), so i'm not going to be too hard on myself.

i hope you, my dears, are doing well. it's going to take a bit of time to catch up on all of YOUR shenanigans, but catch up on them i shall. right now, though, i need to find thick socks. thickER socks. ;)

Enjoy your astronomy class! Jupiter is so bright out right now.

I never want to live anywhere where it gets to be -11.

How are you and the astrologist astronomer getting on? That's too funny! The class sounds like fun. We belong to the local astronomy club (hubs mostly, as I am most definitely a fair weather astronomer!) and one of the local colleges (the junior college) has joined forces with them and they have "star parties" which the students are required to attend one of each of the semesters. I'm afraid our elderly puppy boys would flop over dead in the tundra, so they've only gone outside for the bare necessities and I have been walking comfortably on my treadmill, tyvm. 😉 Stay warm!

When I was at Township 2, the astronomy club met in the community room. One of the nice little old ladies who worked there said, “Oh, the astrology club. That must be very interesting.”

That sounds like quite the snow walk but, in the end, a joyful one.

I have been holding off on Iron Flame even though I enjoyed Fourth Wing because I have heard very mixed reviews. So I will be interested in your opinion.

Socks can be expensive! Good wool socks (or blends). I usually get mind via mail order cuz I have been feet and therefore need big socks.

Maybe your astrology person wants to figure out how to find their star sign’’s constellation?! Enjoy your class and hopefully a new friend.
