wearing my layers like a martyr

ooookay, it's cold. i can handle cold, i guess, but when there's wind? i just sort of want to give up and hibernate until spring. i went out to check on creatures and the snow was blowing horizontally, so i had to try and reconcile that with my knowledge of gravity and physics and weather and normalcy. 

didn't work. 

i'm going to tell you right now, by the end of winter, i'm just going to be pissed off at all the layering for outside then unlayering for inside i'm being forced to do. 

in better news, horse passed her vet check with FLYING colors! she needs some recovery on her feet (amish don't go barefoot with their ponies), her teeth floated (amish don't do teeth on their ponies), and an update on vaccinations (amish are antivaxxers), but the vet said she was amazing and we should "scoop her up."

that's the plan! 

ok. i really should think about food or something. or maybe just more coffee to keep me energized for all the clothes changing i'm doing.

I am okay with snow, and prefer it to heavy rain bc you can't brush rain off your coat...but I too HATE the wind. HATE it.

I remember all the layering from a couple of winter visits to Minnesota. You have to allow an extra 15 minutes to your getting ready time. And then you swelter if you don't get out the door immediately.

Yay horse! Boo cold. We are in much the same boat. Was 55ish degrees yesterday, the temp has plummeted, the wind picked up and we're getting flurries. Boo. Stay warm!!
