+ last night was date night and boy are we exciting: we went and picked up a prescription for the kid, stopped at our favorite duluth bread place for a cookie and coffee,  then went to visit the cousins. 

they were NOT kind to me at all. AT ALL. i ended up losing near 'bout $100, but mister made up for it on two or three machines.

on this one, you can clearly hear my muffled encouragement over a mouthful of pretzels — it was just exciting! with this plus a few other wins, he covered my losses and we walked out $300 ahead. pretty good! 

+ bluebelle's injections went well from what i hear. i chose to avoid the process because NEEDLES. apparently, they sedate the horse then shove in these long ass needles into the hock. THEN they screw on the syringe and inject. OMFG. no. no no no. i get the heebies just picturing it in my mind.  

we're hoping this helps miss hobbles keep from being so stiff — kid wants to show her a little and i want to hop on and go for a wander, too. we'll see what shakes out. 

just a little glimpse into my morning thought process:

we trespassed just so i could admire this dangerously wonky and wobbly barn. isn't she a beauty? seriously....there are so many barns around here that are in various stages of falling down that i just can't with myself.

take a close look at those feet. all of them. o.O this is the best barn cat IN THE WORLD and my shadow when i'm outside. she's a scamperdoodle is what she is.

this beautiful wasp nest was on a building near the falling down barn. while wasps are DEFINITELY not bros, i find them utterly fascinating. they're industrious little fuckers, is what they are.

hedda lives at a barn where we take lessons; she likes to sit by me while we're waiting for things to happen so i can tell her what a remarkable little firestarter she is. i ask her about how her hole digging is going, she tells me stories of wily weasels, and we bond.

~ alrighty. time to do something before bed. what that something is, i have zero clue. g'night.
