+ mister sold six dozen of our eggs at the weekly heritage center meet up this morning! he said he could have sold five more dozen if he'd had them; kid pointed out a) there were two dozen packaged and ready to go that i hadn't even noticed, and b) there was a huge container that held another two dozen+ that i apparently completely forgot about. ALAS!

while i'm pretty sure an instagram-perfect farm stand is going to happen, it's doubtful it will be this year. =\ instead, we need to just toss up a little structure of some type so people can stop, grab, and pay. i'm also thinking about paying the $200 to the state of minnesconsin so i can legally take my eggs and farm stuff off property to sell. 

i'll probably be the only one in the state who has that license. *sigh* bunch of rule breakers, this lot. (not that i have room to talk; i'm trying to figure out how to steal sand from a huge pile that's not on my property. it's on an unoccupied but owned vacant lot (of about 80 acres) — and while there's not a no trespassing sign, i don't know if i'm winsome enough to convince a judge that it was all an honest mistake. 

on the advice of my attorney, dr. gonzo, i'll probably just ASK the dude who owns it when/if i see him. pfft. like THAT would be the advice i'd get from oscar zeta acosta, esq. 

+ sooooo, a MONTH ago, i wrote about mister's new job, saying it was a 100% go that week. HA. ha ha ha ha HA! there was (and is) a huge snafu in the company's hiring guidance that disallows employment of people who do not reside in the state/area of operation. they asked him if he'd be willing to relocate (to san mateo) with a decent bump in pay, but not decent enough for us to be able to have THERE what we have HERE. they then suggested he "move" to california for enough time to be considered a legal resident. they THEN thought things through, with an outside legal team being brought in to see what hoops they'd have to go through as a company to change their working model so he could get hired. 

the upshot was they could not do what needed to be done in a timely manner to get him on, so there was a back and forth between new company and the one he's working for (current one hires him out to new one...he's like an IT hooker!) and he got a raise that we calculated to be close to $2600 a month or so more. 

but it doesn't stop there — new place is determined to get him hired and his immediate boss and the vp of something or other are putting together a presentation and request for his hire to take to the board early august.  the HR head is involved too — because he's not the first person out of state/area that they've wanted to hire but couldn't. 

the presentation includes "testimonials" from a handful of the lead scientists (some of which are nobel laureates o.O), why the want to hire him, cost saving junk, etc etc etc. WHEN the board approves it (manifesting), things can finally happen. what the happening actually happens, i will finally be able to tackle debt in the type of aggressive manner i want to. my hope is that all credit card debt can be paid off by the end of the year; personal loan and car paid off by june of next year; rest of student loans paid off by the end of next year (that may be a bit ambitious, but it could happen!). after that? we're going to dump as much as we can on the house so at some point we can refinance and get a much lower payment. and who knows? it might even work out that we could actually pay off our house in 10 years vs. 92 or however long the mortgage is for. lol

i'm quite aware that things could go tits up between now and august, but this time feels real. like REALLY real. the fact so many people are working together makes me believe that the confidence they have in this being resolved is warranted. 

+  i'm taking kid to spend the afternoon/evening with her friend in hippyland. i have to go to pick up said friend, get them where they're going, do a bit of shopping, come home and do outside stuff until it's time to go get them, GET them, take friend home, come home and get ready for bed. 

it took me about 30 seconds to write out what is going to take 10 hours real time. lort. i guess i better get going.

Wow that whole tale of Mr's work related shenanagins is verging on the ridiculous! I hope it all works out OK, but it's great (and rather flattering!) to have people fighting over him! :D. Good luck!!

Wow to the new place wanting the Mister so badly-but it’s striking to me that it took so much time for them to realize that. -blink blink- I mean, are they asleep at the wheel or what?

nice to see you 'round, girl! ya been missed. :) they have known for quite a while they want him, but the organization is on the tail end of being a start-up and are prepping for an eventual day where they go public, so it's like the wild west. there has been SO MUCH back and forth on this and finally it seems like it's going to be a real answer one way or the other. going to the board is a HUGE deal and there's prep involved, "testimonials", and all sorts of fun stuff. i'm just jealous that he gets to play with nobel winners! >.<

i sell our eggs for $5 a dozen — with some being smaller "fairy" eggs (blue and green) and most being x-large brown. almost everyone gets at least one double yolker in their dozen. :)
