hey, babes
Jun. 16th, 2025 03:34 pm+ muggy and warm today = sporadic outdoor activity = active avoidance of laundry ;)
+ there was a murder on the property a few days ago — while we had company over. one of the new chickens got killed by the dogs and it was a struggle to keep the visit going instead of covering the mirrors and putting on mourning clothes. we have eliminated what we think is the last access point the chickens have to the dog yard; hopefully we're right.
i'm just thankful it was quick for our poor pancake; she was a pretty little thing and sweet. note: all our chickens are pretty little things, but not all are sweet. some of them are downright terrors.
+ today is a slower day of work for me: i need to plant some flowers that i bought on saturday, work with misty on trailer loading, update june's calendar and get started on july's, get my 30-day challenge journal tracker going, write, garden a bit, muck the pasture and arena, and think about dinner.
re: dinner — mister wants to sign us up for eat clean (or something similar) for a few dinners a week. having the freedom to not cook every night during the summer is going to be a great thing for us (me), since there are not enough hours in the day as it is. he has one service we're looking at that's got a lot of nice vegetarian options, but the calories on those are a little high for me. we may do those for kid and do something else for us...not sure.
he tried to sit with me last night to look at things, but i was in a cranky mood for some reason and just wasn't into being positive about anything. *shrug* whatcha gonna do? we all get moody, right? :) thankfully, my moodiness has decreased SUBSTANTIALLY now that i'm on medications for a few conditions which also have the benefit of being medications used to treat anxiety and depression. i like double dipping!
i'm on a nice range of medication now to help with a range of issues/episodes; i seem to be a super responder to most medications, which i attribute to always adopting a "no pills!" mentality for the last thirty years or so. if i took medication, it was for a BIG reason. now i'm like, "gimme drugs, yo."
and it seems to work for me.
+ toni morrison said, "i think some aspects of writing can be taught. obviously, you can't teach vision or talent. but you can help with comfort." yep.
+ ok. i've fiddlefarted around enough for now. time to go play. :)
