~ it seems like the days are flying by.

on one hand? love it! on the other? time needs to slow down; savoring moments is a bit more difficult when the moments start piling atop each other. ;)

this morning kid took care of horse duty while i handled the garden, chickens, and outside clean-up then came inside and starting a bit of cleaning in the house — after a weekend of coming, going, and having company, things need to be put back in order.

mister installed a temporary clothesline for me, so i was able to dry some of our bedding outside; there's nothing i like better than line-dried bedding. it smells so delightful! the line is temporary because while it sort of works like i'd like, it sags in the middle with too much weight.

for the permanent one, i think i'd like something like this:

very cottage-core, right?

very cottage-core, right?

or maybe something with a trellis. *shrug* i'll figure it out eventually, unless i get paralyzed by choices — which sometimes happens when i need to decide on something PERMANANT. ugh.

~ the rest of july is pretty busy. that's also an UGH, even though some of the busy is from fun stuff:

* this sunday i'm taking my ponyclub d2 test. i decided to NOT do the riding portion, because apparently i'm supposed to trot circles, trot straight, and be on the correct diagonal, all while doing these things ON PURPOSE. meh.

* the following sunday we're volunteering to muck stalls for a fund raiser. meh!

* our friend k is coming the 21st for a week-long visit before he and mister head off for gen-con in indinananapolis. during the time he's here, we are having other friends over for in person d&d which is going to be super fun.

while here, we're utilizing his ranch hand abilities to lay in a month or two of hay and maybe getting an extra set of hands to help extend the chicken coop and prison yard. beyond that? fun and games! :) beach time, tourist time, kayak time, fishing time, hanging out time.

i like!

* i know that doesn't SOUND busy, but when you factor in all the other day-to-day, it is. and within that span, i need to factor time in for creative endeavors and more riding.

my gay ex-husband keeps challenging me to start and finish a single writing project. when we talk about the reasons why i am steering clear of that, he tells me that my arguments are invalid. >.< he's right, but no one likes to hear that.

so i have some thoughts pooling around in my little noggin and, well, why not? and that goes for you (my talented writer friends) if you need it; why not? what's the worst thing that could happen?

[yeah, i'm psyching myself up. shhh.]

* an as an end, i'd like to say the following:

— i am protecting my mental health when i push negative and uninteresting people out of my bubble. this goes for people who exaggerate the truth, thrive on drama, and don't bring some sort of /intangible something/ to my life. and that's an ok thing.

also:

=D

* ok. time to workout, have dinner, muck, take care of chickens and horses, and get a ride/work with horse in before bed. thank goodness daylight is lasting until 9:30 around here.

Owning livestock/horses must be a full time job on it's own!

sometimes MORE than a full-time job. :) if the creatures weren't so adorable and loved, it would feel like tedium. ok, it sometimes still feels like tedium. today i was getting eggs and at one point, my index and middle fingers slid into a fresh, warm, SOFT poo. i sort of died. lol

Oh wow that permanent clothesline looks adorable. Love the style!

That definitely all sounds busy to me. But like productive and fun busy!

Good on you for your mental health. No point spending time and energy on people who make you unhappy.

That's a very cute clothes line. Mine is just a couple of ropes tied around two trees.

your current one is fancy compared to my current one. lol we'll see how long it takes for me to get something permanent.

You can take a pony club test without a riding portion? I've never done pony club.

Like the quote at the end.

pony club has horse management certifications with no riding. beyond that, there are LOTS of riding certs. i am not doing the one this weekend at all — i have decided that the value for me is not worth it. i'll just be a little helper bee and not have to take tests. =D lol

Ah.

Nothing wrong with being helper bee.
