getting my crafty on

+ today, instead of prepping for the weekend, i watched too many hours of youtube learning how to make victorian "puzzle purses" — which is just a fancy way of saying making an origami letter/square. 

with girl's birthday being this friday, i wanted to do something different than a normal card. i have a pink clover blossom/leaves that has been drying in the flower press since spring. with just a TINY trim, it will fit on the inside of the VPP....that, along with the decoration, will be something i think she'll dig.

i like most of the design of ^, so i may swipe the general idea. 

+ tomorrow we're heading to the ceramic's co-op meeting. i'm taking our clay and our glazes to make sure they're OK to use there. since everyone there fires with other people's work, making sure glazes and clay are uniform is important. 

i refuse to be the one that fucks up and has a piece explode in the kiln. 

+ it's been so cold the last two days that i have struggled to go outside. :( doctor and mister said that when you start losing body fat, keeping warm is harder. does this mean i have NO body fat? because i feel like i'm freezing in 38 degree weather. 

[note: the answer to that question is a resounding NO. there's fat there. lol]

anyway, i really need a new jacket, but i just can't bring myself to pay winter prices. :( so i'll schlep around in the XL and look sloppy until i can buy the L in columbia super-warm over-the-but reflective-heat jacket i'm eyeballing. the large feels just big enough for multiple layers to be worn, and by early spring i should be at goal weight and if i need a medium, i can pivot. *nod*

lookit me saving dollars and making sense. 

+ it's too late to eat anything and i accidentally skipped dinner, so i'm having a little bit of a struggle right now. maybe i'll eat a whole wheat cracker or something...then again, i'm not THAT hungry and can wait until breakfast. 

where i could eat 30 eggs in one go and still have an abundance of eggs from the girls. bless their little hearts.

Oh and I totally feel you on the being cold thing. I have recently lost some weight (still a fat!) and I am either having a hot flash or freezing. It's...well let's just say my husband is very amused by my random states of dress. Today he laughed and said every time he looks at me I'm wearing something different!

That looks so cute! My crafty kiddo would love making those. My aunt just gave me a jacket I don't need...I wish I could teleport it to you! It's pleather though, def not Columbia haha
