would you buy a dozen farm-fresh eggs (some jumbo, some large, some medium and some brown, some green, some blue) for $5.75 — with a "you get seventy-five cents back if you return the carton" discount?

i see the prices of eggs in the supermarket and there are still "cheaper" eggs out there, but they're a) ugly b) not from bougie chickens c) not from chickens that are free range and happy.

when we were buying eggs, i was spending close to $5 a dozen for brown, cage-free eggs. and there were no blue ones! (yes, i am THAT person that would pay more money for blue or green eggs, even though they're smaller. UGH.)

kid: "when would you go?"

me: ".....like....winter."

kid: ........

kid: .............

kid: "and where would you go for a week?"

me: ".......hawaii."

kid: *slow blink, long glare* "no."
